The construction of the viaduct called Boutaca Bridge, name associated to a property of Master Boitaca, started in this place, in the second half of 19th century , in 1862, during the reign of D.Luís, as a witnessed in the recording landmark placed in road ditch which, from north to south, gives access to the bridge.
The Batalha County Community Museum (M.C.C.B), elected as the best Portuguese museum in 2012 by the Portuguese Association of Museology and was distinguished with the consecrated Kenneth Hudson prize (2013) in Belgium. This museum is a project inserted in the new Museology and Socio-museology that wants to value the identity and history of the Batalha county and periphery.
Battle of Aljubarrota Interpretation Center
The story of the battle of Aljubarrota takes place in the middle of its battlefield through a multimedia show that takes visitors to the 14th century.
This construction was started in 1514, by king D. Manuel initiative, at the request of the villagers, since the monastery didn’t have parish service for the local population. It’s the most important testimonial of the manueline phase of Batalha village.
Equestrian statue of D. Nuno Álvares Pereira
Monument dated 1968, representing Commander Nuno Álvares Pereira, who defeated the Castilian army in the Battle of Aljubarrota.
The first cloister to be built in the Monastery, was considerably enriched at the time of D. Manuel.
